Godhumai Kali/Wheat Flour Balls is a traditional wholesome meal in the state of Tamil Nadu. This Kali is also known as mudde in Kannada, Sangati in Telugu and Kali in Tamil. Instead of having rice in the afternoon as a wholesome meal you can replace it with Godhumai Kali.
This is one of our favorite food. Whenever I prepare mashed green, chicken kurma or mutton kurma definitely I make any one of the kali variety. Kali can be made with millets too like Ragi(finger millet) Kali, Kambu(pearl millet) Kali. All these are healthy food which was consumed by our grandparents which made them healthier even at their old age. Vegetarians can consume this Godhumai Kali with mashed greens like Vendaya Keerai Masiyal (mashed fenugreek leaves along with dal). Nonvegetarians can consume this along with Chicken Kurma or Mutton Kurma. Either way, it tastes delicious. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.
