Raw Banana Tawa Fry/Vazhakkai Varuval is a simple South Indian accompaniment which goes well with sambar, rasam or curd rice. Many recipes like deep fry, podimas, normal fry with coconut, fritters, curry and much more can be made using Raw Banana.
Raw banana cooks very fast, so we need not pressure cook or boil it as we do with potatoes. Roast raw banana on low flame only to get the crispy texture. Also, make sure to slice it thinly. Mom makes this in two different ways. One is the way which is shown here, cut in the round slice and marinated and fried on tawa. The other method is masala is ground along with grated coconut and sauteed in a tbsp of oil. For this method, raw banana is cut into cubes. Soon will be sharing this method too. Now let us see how to prepare this recipe.
